Remarks by Tameem on World Environment day
Jun 05 2013 – Tameem spoke about the start of Industrial revolution in the middle of 19 century, carbon dioxide emissions in our atmosphere have increased steadily and dramatically, this increase in CO2 from roughly 280 parts per million (ppm) prior to the industrial revolution to about 392 ppm today is having a dramatic impact on our climate.
Tameem also spoke about anti-food waste campaign this year’s world environment day aim to reduce foodprint by become more aware of the environmental impact of food waste and loss across the food supply chain according to the UNEP.
Tamem highlighted shocking figures of world hungry children, according to the UN food and agriculture organization (FAO), every year 1.3 billion of food is wasted. This is equivalent to the same amount produced in the whole sub-Saharan Africa. At the same time 1 in every 7 people in the world go to bed hungry and more than 20,000 children under the age of 5 die daily from hunger.
The clear message of world environment day is that everyone has a duty to push for an anti-food waste and food loss campaign that encourages you to reduce your foodprint and hopefully the world leaders at Mongolia will take this forward.

In a brief Media address Chairman Tameem Highlighted the environment issues and said if the world turn blind eye on global warming tomorrow it might be too late G8 nations should realize the responsibility on their shoulders to take every necessary step towards the protection of environment which is caused by the heavy Industries and pollution.
Message on World Environment Day from Human Rights Observers chief M Tameem
Jun 05 2012, – While addressing the crowd Tameem said it is an important annual environmental event for expressing our national and moral commitment towards maintaining our natural resources. By celebrating this occasion, we renew our determination to exert more efforts towards protecting our environment and achieving sustainable development goals.
Tameem said by celebrating this occasion, Human Rights Observers have effectively drawn attention towards environmental issues in India and successfully raised the level of environmental awareness among individuals and various community groups as well as improved our behaviour towards environmental resources. Human Rights Observers efforts are clearly manifested in the increased community participation in environmental activities and events held on this occasion. The keenness of HRO activists and other institutions from the public and private sectors and public interest organizations to take advantage of this opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development goals.
