Tameem addresses UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Mar 21 2014, – The International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination was observed by Human Rights Observers today at in the auditorium of HRO, Basheer Bagh Hyderabad. Sri Tameem chairman of Human Rights Observers presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Tameem said that as a result of developments of all sorts the world has shrunk to a Global Village, making the culture and life style of the people common. There has been awakening about the respect of fellowmen and dignity of humanity. He said that the biggest message of the modern day society is the equality of human kind with any discrimination of gender, race, colour, region, civilization and religion. It is a matter of happiness that a major part of the society acts on the principles of equality throughout the world.

He said that   the principle of equality  has been enshrined in the preamble of our constitution. At one hand we are proud of our guiding principle and on the other hand we are ashamed that in the 21st century still there are certain forces which   are against the very principle of equality. Delegates from the African countries participated in the function. They said that they are impressed by the   spirit of equality and tolerance of Indian people.

Speed up women empowerment, says Tameem, Chairman of Human Rights Observers

Mar 08 2014, – Tameem said, apart from the economic and social inequality Women in India consistently lag behind the men in terms of access to education, health care, unable to take lead role in politics and corporate sector. Women in India are victims of heinous crimes such as, dowry deaths, rape, molestation and immoral trafficking.

Tameem also said without women’s active role no nation dream about development. Women should be given fair enough chance in all the platforms from government not government and politics to ensure gender dis-balance in our country

He further stressed the need of women freedom and a rights respecting culture should prevail. Crimes against women are taking place because there are lapses in our justice system lack of evidences number of criminals are walking free, need to speed up the process and bring culprits to justice.

Tameem highlighted in detail the status of human rights and salient featured of democracy, we have been successful in promoting and maintaining the democracy but we fail to value and protect the human rights. He highlighted importance of civil and cultural aspects of rule of law.

He highlighted status of women’s rights and said that after Afghanistan and Congo India is the fourth dangerous country as far as the women’s rights are concerned.
